PDF-bestanden Splitsen Stap voor Stap
Quick Answer
Introduction
Step by Step
-
Open the PDF Splitter tool
Go to the PDF Splitter tool page. The tool processes PDFs locally using a WASM-based PDF library, so your file never leaves your browser.
-
Upload your PDF file
Click upload or drag-and-drop your PDF file onto the tool. The tool loads the file and displays the total page count.
-
Choose the split mode
Select how to split: 'Extract pages' (output a PDF with only the specified pages), 'Split at page' (divide into two PDFs at a given page number), or 'Split every N pages' (divide into multiple PDFs of N pages each).
-
Specify the page range or split point
Enter the page numbers or range. For extract, use formats like '1-3, 5, 7-9'. For split at, enter a single page number. For split every N, enter N. Page numbers start at 1.
-
Download the result
Click Split. The tool produces the output PDF(s). Download the file (or files, if splitting into multiple parts). Verify the output contains the correct pages.
Examples
Extract pages 1-3
Input: report.pdf (20 pages), extract pages 1-3
Output: extracted.pdf (3 pages) — first three pages only
Split at page 10
Input: document.pdf (20 pages), split at page 10
Output: part1.pdf (pages 1-9), part2.pdf (pages 10-20)
Split every 5 pages
Input: book.pdf (15 pages), split every 5 pages
Output: part1.pdf (1-5), part2.pdf (6-10), part3.pdf (11-15)
Common Problems
- Page numbers start at 1, not 0 —using 0 as a page number causes an error or extracts nothing.
- Invalid page ranges —ranges like '5-2' (reverse) or pages beyond the document length are invalid. Check the total page count first.
- Encrypted PDFs cannot be split —decrypt the PDF first (remove the password) before splitting.
- Large PDFs may be slow to process —splitting a 100+ page PDF may take several seconds in the browser.
Tips
- Use 'Extract pages' to pull specific pages into a new PDF —useful for sharing only the relevant section of a long document.
- Use 'Split every N pages' to break a large PDF into equal chunks —useful for parallel processing or email size limits.
- Combine split and merge for complex page rearrangement —split into individual pages, then merge in the desired order.
- Use our PDF Splitter for private, browser-based processing —your file never leaves your device.
